Love is yet to be fully understood. Perhaps one of the primary reasons is its subjective nature. Every individual has their own definition of love, or perhaps we don’t understand love because finding love is rare. And when something is rare, we demand more of it. How often have you heard your friend searching for “the one” in their lives, only for their efforts to go in vain? It’s not that they are undeserving of love, but perhaps their approach is flawed.

Love finds you when you least expect it.

Love is selfless. When we search for love, we look at the individual through our selfish needs. And, in the process, we become too needy and imposing. Love is kind and giving. Notice how the best relationships in your life are those you never asked for. These relationships may include the one with your parents or that friend from elementary school who just happened to stick through thick and thin in your life.

Something magical happens when we reframe our mindset into accepting that love finds us when we least expect it. We get rid of the anxiety of “expecting” and submit to the natural flow of life. Instead of “forcing” love, we become open to falling into it.

It’s understandable to be daunted by the idea of being alone for the rest of your life. Or succumb to the solitude you find yourself in. We are too focused on the future to stop and fathom the “now.” You can never predict the future; the more you realize this fact, the more you will notice the magic within the present.

There is bliss in knowing you can’t write certain pages of your love story, and the only way to find a love that is true and everlasting is to submit to destiny.

Author Mary Alcock pens a beautiful manifestation of the “love by chance” narrative. As two souls, Luke and Isabelle, have their destinies intertwined, sparks fly in Vienna’s serendipitous backdrop. Their encounter leads to intoxicating conversations, strolls in the moonlight, and an inevitable goodbye that leaves us yearning for more.

Will destiny have their paths crossed once again? Only one way to find out.
